Physical Education

Our Intent:

At Washwood Heath Academy, the intent of teaching Physical Education is to give children the skills and understanding required to make a positive impact in their own physical health and well-being. We want all children to experience a wide range of sports and physical skills which will promote a healthy, active lifestyle. PE can challenge and promote self-esteem through physical activity to help develop physical confidence and problem solving. PE lessons, enrichment activities and intra-school competitions provide children with equal opportunities to succeed at sport with the aim of getting everyone as active as possible. Encouraging children to participate in different sports and formats of competition develops their ability to cope with both success and failure in competitive, individual and team-based physical activities.
