English- Reading

Our Intent: 

Here within Washwood Heath Primary Phase, we have a thirst for reading and fully recognise the intrinsic role it plays within our approach to teaching and learning and curriculum access. A huge emphasis is therefore placed on reading at every possible opportunity, whether the pupils are at home or in school. It is our aim to develop and create passionate readers for life. Our Reading curriculum provides pupils with the necessary knowledge, skills, vocabulary, and understanding needed to be confident, articulate, and creative in their written and oral communication. We strive to achieve the highest standard for all children entrusted to our care whilst ensuring that they are equipped with the skills, knowledge and understanding to support future learning.
