Year 9 complete Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award!

Our Year 9 Duke of Edinburgh group have been working on their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award throughout the academic year completing a range of activities including:

- 3 months of volunteering at various places from primary schools to food banks;

- 3 months of a skill from cooking to musical instruments;

- 6 months of physical activity from activities such as football, boxing, and basketball.

Their commitment and dedication to complete the award left them with the final section and the part most look forward to ... the expedition!

The expedition included 2 days of activities and 1 night of camping. On the 14th/15th July  pupils started their expedition at the Lickey Hills doing some orienteering before setting off on a 4 hour walk to Blackwell Court where they set up camp and cooked their own food.

The next day they walked for 6 hours towards Clent Hill. The group worked tremendously well together, problem solving as they went, encouraging each other and never giving up. They did amazingly well being the youngest group of pupils in the school to complete the award. They should be proud of themselves - what an amazing achievement!

Many thanks to Miss Robbins for leading these students through their Bronze DofE award!
