Year 8 Trip to London

On the 30th June our Year 8 cohort had the exciting opportunity to go to Central London. After an early departure from school, we made our way down to London starting at the Natural History Museum, a rich and memorable experience that offers pupils a wide range of educational and cultural capital benefits. Pupils really enjoyed the Dinosaur Gallery, the life-size animatronic Tyrannosaurus rex and impressive fossil skeletons. Next up was the Hintze Hall and the Blue Whale Skeleton, the dramatic entrance hall features "Hope," the huge blue whale skeleton suspended from the ceiling. This Symbolises the museum’s focus on conservation and humanity’s responsibility to the natural world. Pupils made their way through the giant model of the Earth leading into galleries about volcanoes, earthquakes, and tectonic activity. The weather was hot so pupils cooled off in the Wildlife Garden before we embarked on our walk to The Royal Albert Hall. We all sat outside and ate our picnic, taking in the sun and the wonderul sights before continuing our walk to Buckingham Palace, Downing Street, Big Ben and The houses of Parliament.
A wonderful day enjoying London, the Capital City, in the sun!
