Secondary Phase- Key Stage 3 Handwriting Support

Many Key Stage 3 pupils have been taking part in weekly Handwriting Intervention to support with the improvement of their handwriting.

At WHA we understand the importance of ensuring that students have ongoing support for the barriers they face to being successful both at school and beyond. Students have responded really well to Handwriting Intervention with many feeling proud of their progress.

Pupils in previous cohorts have asked to come back when they feel their handwriting has slipped, demonstrating how we are creating new habits with students to have a desire to improve their work. Each session starts with a 'Doh Disco' to develop students fine motor skills followed by sequential activities that build on each other weekly to develop students shape, style and fluency of their handwriting. Here is a selection of photographs highlighting the progress made from our students so far- a huge thank you to Ms Ishfaq and Miss Husslebee for their amazing work.
