Severn Trent visited primary and educated pupils on the importance of preserving water and being mindful of how much water we use on a day to day basis. Children had the pleasure of meeting Andy from Severn Trent, who hosted a fantastic interactive assembly. Y4 then had the opportunity to experience a brilliant workshop showing them how much water on average each child uses per morning. This was a huge eye opener for the children, everyone happily signed a pledge to try to be more careful with the water usage.

The Pupil Leaders from Primary and Secondary had a very important and successful meeting planning their next steps in the community. As a RRSA school, it is essential that our children take action and stand up for their rights. They met together to discuss Article 24: Healthcare for children and young people should be as good as possible. The children identified what was local in the area and what could make their community better. We had lots of opportunities for discussion. Children will be completing a local walk in the upcoming weeks and get involved in community service to help serve their community.

Year 4 showcased the first Primary Poetry Performance of the year! Children have been working extremely hard to work on their poetry skills, performance skills and writing skills to write a poem about the water cycle. They used elements of rhyme and rhythm to make their poems song like. Mrs Powis Jones and Mr Canon were specially invited, alongside the parents. We had a huge crowd and the children absolutely loved it! Thank you to all of the parents and children who got involved. It was a pleasure to perform and we will continue to do more of this in the upcoming weeks.

Primary are working on providing more opportunities for personal development for our children. Staff were recently trained and introduced to Pioneering Cadets. This will provide our children with experiences they may not have had before, but build their resilience, communication skills and team work skills. We can't wait to get this started! Thank you Laurence from Pioneering Cadets for helping us along the way!
