Year 10 Character Day – Preparing for the Future

Our Year 10 pupils took part in a highly successful Character Day, designed to prepare them for the important decisions and opportunities that lie ahead as they enter their final year at Washwood Heath Academy.

The day brought together a wide range of employers, colleges, universities and training providers at our Future Careers & Skills Fair, giving pupils the opportunity to explore Post-16 pathways, ask questions and gain valuable advice from industry professionals. Throughout the day, pupils also completed a comprehensive careers booklet, helping them identify suitable destinations, develop a personal profile, reflect on their recent work experience, prepare for interviews, draft personal statements and create an action plan for September.

The event built upon the excellent work experience placements completed earlier this term and formed another important part of our commitment to ensuring every pupil is future ready. By developing their confidence, employability skills and career awareness, our pupils are now better equipped to make informed choices about their next steps.

We would like to thank all of the employers, education providers and staff who gave their time to support the event and inspire our young people. Their contributions helped make the day a valuable and memorable experience for every Year 10 pupils.
