SEND Cookery Club: Building Skills, Confidence, and Independence
Our SEND Cookery Club is more than just a place to learn recipes—it’s a space where students develop essential life skills, build confidence, and enjoy the joy of cooking in a supportive environment. Through hands-on activities, pupils enhance their independence, teamwork, and creativity while exploring a variety of delicious dishes. Pupils have prepared many different foods such as; spicy chicken pasta, vegetable pakora, Chik'n burgers, tandoori chicken, Pizza baguettes and more. Cookery club is a real highlight of the week for the pupils involved but also for the lucky staff and pupils that get to sample the wonderful food.
Cooking helps improve fine motor skills, numeracy, and communication, making it a valuable experience both in and out of the kitchen. Most importantly, it’s a fun and inclusive space where every pupil can thrive, celebrate achievements, and gain a sense of pride in their creations.
We are incredibly proud of our students' enthusiasm and progress in the SEND Cookery Club—one meal at a time! Huge Thank you to the Wonderful Miss Ishfaq for the effort she goes to each week to provide this experience.
