Choosing your options is such an exciting stage of your educational journey - which pathway will you follow to give you the best chance of success?

Selecting your options

Your child will select their options using an online platform. Your child will attend an assembly in school to discuss this in more detail on 8th December 2020 . During this assembly, your child will receive their unique username and password. They must use these details to log onto the options platform via the links in the pathways information below.  Please assist your child to make their selections in advance of the deadline which is 18th December 2023.

Pathways - what are they and what does this mean for my options?

Your child will be entered into one of three pathways. These pathways are:

• Triple Science pathway
• Ebacc pathway
• Open pathway

Pupils will be placed in a pathway that we believe will allow them to maximise their attainment and progress and give them the best opportunities to pursue their chosen field when leaving the Academy at the end of their Year 11 exams.

Triple Science Pathway

Students will follow:

• Triple Science
• Maths
• English Language
• English Literature
• French or Urdu (depending on what they have studied in Years 7-9)
• A choice of Geography or History
• Religious Studies
• Physical Education (non-examined)
• PSHE (non-examined)

EBacc Pathway

Students will follow:

• A choice of one option from the open option list (see reverse for details)
• Combined Science
• Maths
• English Language
• English Literature
• French or Urdu (depending on what they have studied in Years 7-9)
• A choice of Geography or History
• Religious Studies
• Physical Education (non-examined)
• PSHE (non-examined)
