Our Intent: 

At Washwood Heath Academy Primary Phase, we aim to ensure that our children are exposed to as many experiences as possible that will allow them to be educated citizens in an ever changing world.  We truly believe that Geography is a creative and highly inter-connected discipline that has been developed over time. A high-quality geography education therefore provides a foundation for understanding the world, the ability to find and give directions, an appreciation of the beauty and power of land and changes over time, and a sense of enjoyment and curiosity about the subject becoming geographers when they leave the primary phrase.

In the Primary Phase,  our geography education will inspire our pupils to be curios and fascinated about the world and its people. Our curriculum will equip pupils with knowledge about diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments, together with a deep understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes. As pupils progress through the school years, their growing knowledge about the world will develop their deep understanding of the interaction between physical and human processes, and of the formation and use of landscapes and environments.
